While in Kusi, we spent one of our days at the local pool. Everybody loaded up in a bus with swim gear, sunscreen, soccer balls and of course, lunch (which no surprise was rice, potatoes and chicken) to enjoy the beautiful sunny day at the pool.

Tis the season of preparation and waiting – one thing I’m good at, another I sometimes find very hard.
How does this not make you smile?
For those of you that don’t know, the Scripture Union boys in Peru are given the name girasoles, which is Spanish for sunflower. They live in the Casa Girasoles and are part of the Programa Girasoles. The idea behind the name Girasoles is that like a real sunflower follows the sun during the day, these boys will follow the Son throughout their lives. To those of us who live in a culture where calling a boy a flower name sounds silly, these boys take pride in their name.
